Concord, MA

GRLA conducted a comprehensive facilities condition assessment of four elementary schools in the Town of Concord.

The assessment incorporated a comprehensive walk-through audit and evaluation of the existing buildings and their systems including:

  • Site elements

  • Architectural elements and code issues

  • Building envelope elements

  • Structural components

  • Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire Protection systems

  • HAZMAT

Upon completion of the evaluation, GRLA prepared a report that included the following details.

  • Observations, assessments and analyses with recommendations for repair/replacement.

  • Expected remaining service life of building envelope components, interiors, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems

  • Identification of compliance issues with building, fire, and life safety codes as well as handicap accessibility

  • Priorities for maintenance, repair, and replacement to assist the School Department in their development of a 10-year capital plan

  • A cost estimate for recommended replacement and maintenance work
